Like the "real" Stonehenge, America's Stonehenge was built by an ancient culture who had a firm understanding of astronomy and stone construction. Unlike the "real" Stonehenge, America's Stonehenge is only an hour drive from Boston in Salem, NH.

The site itself, deep in the woods of Salem, is over 4000 years old and consists of a number of stone structures and trails. The main area includes a sacrificial altar, an oracle chamber, burial chambers, and a working observatory. No one knows who built it or why it was ultimately abandoned.

Many people have reported experiencing paranormal events at the site, including strange sounds, glowing rocks, and eery lights from the surrounding woods. Also, alpacas. If you're a sucker for ancient mysteries and sacrificial altars (and who isn't?) this one's for you!
